Today God is at work in you and is also working through you

Posted: September 8, 2014

It's Monday. It's a new day. You and I have plans for our day and for our week, but God also has plans. He is at work in us by his Holy Spirit.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you (John 14:16, 17, NIV).

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8, NIV).

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22, 23, NIV).

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18, NIV).

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully (Romans 12:4-8, NIV).

All these (the gifts mentioned above in Romans 12 and here in 1 Corinthians 12) are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines (1 Corinthians 12:11, NIV).

Today God is at work in you and is also working through you. Be aware of this and fully embrace this.

Partnering together to let God do his work in us today,
